Goodbye NYC, Hello World!

Welcome all! Our adventure is now underway! As we bid farewell to our apartment of two years in Manhattan, the weeks leading up to our departure were filled with both excitement and panic. We desperately juggled saying goodbye to friends and family in an array of brunches, happy hours, lunches, dinners and stopovers. Apologies if we missed any of you guys, it got pretty hectic toward the end there.

We negotiated the logistics of packing our necessities, then sold/donated/gifted anything that didn’t make the cut. In the midst of all this we somehow found a way to maintain our sanity. No easy task, but mission accomplished- Freebird is packed to the gills and ready to fly!

Along with our friends and family, we also had to say goodbye to the place where we met, fell in love and built a life together over the past 2 years; Central Park.

Joe’s co-workers acquired an amazingly delicious Ben & Jerry’s ice cream cake to send him off. If you haven’t had a taste of one yet, I highly recommend it. Thanks again to Joe’s people at the CBS Radio corporate finance team 🙂

Freebird, our 26 foot long class C Shasta RV was brought in to the mechanic for a last minute tune up & some repairs.

Before battening down the ole hatches and hitting the road for our big adventure, we were lucky enough to stay with Hillary’s grandparents in Westport, Connecticut. (thanks for the sandwiches Grandma!) It took a few days to organize everything and cozy-up to our new home on wheels.  This is IT people! We are finally hitting the road for our first stop: Hudson Valley New York to visit Joe’s alma mater in New Paltz, New York.

The moment is here and we couldn’t be more excited! Come along on our adventure, we’ll be updating you guys weekly as time and WiFi access allows.

Thanks for following!
